Twilight (2008)

Yes, I saw the Twilight movie. No, it wasn't actually that bad--at least, not as bad as I had expected. Some cheesy dialogue, pitch-perfect Meyer; but good pacing and characterization/acting, a few eye-roll moments that nevertheless kept me engaged. I want to reread New Moon now for its shameless emotional manipulation. Bella's entire story is so ridiculous that I sympathize with her, and I am able to enjoy the story without questioning its (purely cliché) moments.

Thoughts, if you've seen the film as well?

I liked it more than I thought I would. But I also went in with expectations that had to be dragged up from the cellar.

It was really smart of them to get someone as charismatic as Robert Pattinson in this role... enough lines rang hollow in the movie anyway that I was snerking the whole way through, but I could just keep trying to figure out what was going on behind Pattinson's eyes, and I stayed interested. He was a better Edward than book-Eward ever managed to be.

Pattinson's staying up late trying to think of ways to get fired. XD

I sort of want to see his Edward after he said that he played the part as a 107-year-old self-hating manic-depressive virgin, but I can get so much entertainment for free by watching the fandom that paying $7 to actually see the movie seems kind of superfluous.
