Ruler of the Realm, by Herbie Brennan
This book is due tomorrow at the library, so I can't procrastinate any more on writing it up. XD
Third in the Faerie Wars series, Ruler of the Realm ultimately fails to live up to my expectations. Although the genre has always been solidly YA, I don't remember the plot devices being this obvious in the other two books. The foreshadowing is crude, the characters are childish, and the setting fails to enthrall (which means that it ends up being skimmed). I'm not sure how long this series will be; I'd still read the rest for the sake of completion, but I would never spend money to buy it.
