The annual Locus award winners are out, and The Privilege of the Sword won for best fantasy novel! Neil Gaiman also won for both short story and collection (Fragile Things), which I need to read. Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett won for best YA; personally I think Megan Whalen Turner's The King of Attolia was better. I haven't directly experienced any of the other winners, though I've heard lots of good things about most of them (nothing in my grapevine at all about Rainbows End, curiously enough).
