Great. I just found out that Swordspoint has a sequel, The Privilege of the Sword (both by Ellen Kushner). The first book was amazing, so the sequel should be good as well. And there's another sequel/accompaniment, The Fall of the Kings, but it doesn't look as interesting. Worse, the library doesn't have either sequel, so I'll have to buy it. *sigh*
In good news, I finally finished going through every chapter of Imperial Intrigue and revising passive tense into active tense. And I solved the rut I was in, so hopefully I can get more written. Now I just need to solve the rut in A Test of Faith, and I'll be set.
I've got my Achaea fix for the day (I swear, it's an addiction), so I should be able to work on Sharon's website image request. I haven't touched Photoshop in like a month... *sweatdrop* But Tian got a CS2 CD, so I just need to beg her until she lends it to me.
The Achaea server is down, and of course I haven't got anything else to do. Just went to the library yesterday and got a bunch of books, but I'm loath to give up my computer time. Hey, maybe I'll actually get some writing done. I'm working on two at once -- Alex, of course, and then a short story about Teresa (very revised from the original Teresa, mind you) called "A Test of Faith". Trying to write religious conflict on a personal level is hard. I guess it's like a life-long Catholic never really believing in God and then suddenly is given proof of a divine existence. And then we have Elena, a prostitute turned priestess turned slave turned tutor and who is all four of those things at once. Oh, the fun.
Tian finally came back from China yesterday, but her jet lag is horrible and there isn't much to do if Achaea's down. MUDs are too addicting. So here are my options: continue reading Limyaael's backlogged rants, which are currently rather philosophical and not as interesting; write some more on Alex or Teresa; read The Years of Rice and Salt by Kim Stanley Robinson, which has an interesting summary but a boring intro; or do the ten million things I have on my to-do list. I want to see The Devil Wears Prada sometime this week -- hmm, maybe I'll invite Tian. She probably won't be interested, though. The book is taking forever to come in at the library, so I guess I'll see the movie first.
Then I need to take a photo of hong xian cai, to post on the internet and see if anyone knows its English name. It could be used as a pinkish-red cloth dye, I think. I could also read one of the two medieval cooking research books I got, in preparation. Teresa is sitting down to eat lunch right now, and all I've figured out is an appetizer of split pea soup and salad. I'm okay at description, but I've no skill whatsoever at setting. I can't even imagine Alex's palace very vividly in my mind; I don't really care what it looks like, is the problem. Even when I read, I catch myself skimming over the setting paragraphs.
And I want to go to the mall this weekend, too. I need to buy shorts, a new watch, and the E.S. Posthumus CD (Unearthed). There's a store that specializes in DVDs, CDs, video games, etc. and hopefully they'll charge less than $16 for the CD. I am not paying $16 for one CD, no matter how inspiring it is. I want to go to Borders as well, buy some books. I've got 20 bucks to spend, and this time I'll actually spend them. Really. Oh, and I need to find a new handbag at the mall, dunno where. I love the Aeropostale mini-totes, if only they had zippered tops. I'm paranoid about stuff falling out.
On top of all that, I'm missing. If that doesn't make any sense to you, ignore it because you don't need to know. I was looking forward to a few good hours of Achaea, but guess not. Well, at least stupid Comcast hasn't cut out on me yet. Actually, I should probably eat lunch before doing anything else. A Lean Pocket, most likely. Then I know I'll go snack-crazy in the afternoon and waste all the calories I saved on a light lunch.
Will probably come back to rant later, but I'm posting this before the computer crashes and I lose the longest entry I've ever written.

The longest poem I've ever written, come to think of it.
