Fruits Basket vol. 18
by Natsuki Takaya
Genre: Fiction/Graphic Novel
I'm a little disturbed by the power dynamics in Furuba, though it's probably just my paranoid imagination--Kyo > Tohru and Yuki > Machi, in terms of the dominant person in the relationship. Tohru > Yuki, but that relationship fell through. (I used to ship Tohru/Yuki and I still think they are cuter together, but I don't disapprove of Tohru/Kyo either. Yuki/Machi is even starting to grow on me.)
In other news: good plot and character development. Very cute, as always. I adore Rin/Haru. Much love. And I pity Machi--her parents were so, ugh. And yet so very believable, as well.

Date: 2008-03-15 07:10 pm (UTC)Machi is cute, I love her/Yuki. I love Kisa's relationship with Haru; it's so fucking adorable. If she were older I'd be tempted to ship them...don't like Rin very much. Not entirely sure why. And Akito/Shigure is a fun one to watch because it's as much a fight as it is (not, currently) a relationship.
I could carry on for some time. And if you haven't read it all yet - it ends superbly, in my own opinion. ;3

Date: 2008-03-15 07:41 pm (UTC)Kisa is adorable, but I find Kisa/Hiro a bit too cutesy for my taste. They're so young... I didn't like Rin much either, but the last few books have won me over because I just love her/Haru (not her by herself, particularly). On the Akito front, I favor Kureno--not a big fan of Shigure.
