Am I crazy? Read this: "Sanjay Dass did two things on his seventy-fifth birthday. He put flowers on his wife's grave. And he joined the army." Am I the only person defaulting to old white guy here?

According to a commenter on Scalzi's post: "Are you really, really going to think of Sanjay as an old white guy? Of course not."

I defaulted to old POC guy. Which might not be fair either, because who knows? Someone might have just liked the name Sanjay and named their son that!
