Unknown Cdrama
Nov. 12th, 2008 10:32 pmNot sure what the title of this is; my mother brought it back from China. Also, spoilers follow (up to how much I've seen in sporadic blocks).
This cdrama is absolutely insane! It starts with a rich man forcing his brother's friend's girlfriend to marry him in order to pay for said brother's friend's medical care after an accident. She fights him the whole way and begs to be released from her promise, but he refuses. They're married, she falls in love with him, along the way her former lover falls for another, commits murder for said another, and then finally kills himself when his new beloved dies of cancer. Meanwhile the heroine randomly disappears like three times due to various Misunderstandings(tm). There's the usual family drama and the jealous other woman. Hero and heroine are divorced after a year, but the heroine discovers that she's still in love with him after another series of weird coincidences, and they get back together. Except she runs away the day they're to be remarried because jealous other woman tells her that she's bearing his child! (Try to figure those pronouns out, heh.) And every time they seem to be living happily ever after, another disaster comes up--like hero playing a part in the death of heroine's former lover. The heroine is prone to fainting and the emotionally silent type; the hero is absolutely obsessed with her from the day he meets her.
To compound it all, I keep hearing bits of AP Lang analysis in my head while being entranced by the damn thing.
ETA: Apparently, in the end she turns him in to the police, he gets 7 years in prison for indirectly causing the death, but she still visits him in prison (and he, of course, is still in love with her). I predicted all the major plot points and the entire plotline is ridiculously melodramatic; but fun! I'm even inspired to write a story on the same original premise (forced marriage).
